The Blue Valley Tigers's game on Friday was all tied up 33-33 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 76-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. James Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. James Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Regan Becker out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Becker posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Messer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Blue Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for St. James Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Blue Valley will square off against Shawnee Mission Northwest on Tuesday. Shawnee Mission Northwest will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for St. James Academy, they will be playing at home against Olathe South at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Olathe South's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so St. James Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
