A well-balanced attack led the Shoals Christian Flame over the Covenant Christian Eagles in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Shoals Christian took down Covenant Christian 50-35. Given Shoals Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Covenant Christian is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sarah Davis (2025) was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Shoals Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Abby Owens, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Shoals Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cherokee the next time they take the court. Shoals Christian will head out to face Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Covenant Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
