After losing to the Thales Academy Apex Titans the last time they met, the Coastal Christian Centurions decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Coastal Christian blew past Thales Academy Apex 67-47. Given Coastal Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Thales Academy Apex is ranked 206th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coastal Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Davies out in front who scored 24 points. The match was Davies' sixth in a row with at least ten points. George Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Coastal Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Thales Academy Apex, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Coastal Christian will head out on the road to face off against New Hanover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully New Hanover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Friday. Thales Academy Apex won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Burlington Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on December 1st. Burlington Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Thales Academy Apex likes a good challenge.
