Baseball Recap: Wells Beats Coleville for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Wells waltzed into their match on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They never let the Coleville Wolves get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Wells let Miguel Martinez and Cesar Beruman run wild. Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Beruman went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. Gage Uhlig was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wells' win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Coleville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Coming up, Wells will face off against Carlin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards are facing the Railroaders at the right time seeing as the Railroaders are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Coleville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Smith Valley at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
