Softball Recap: Old Forge Wins Going Away Against Lakeland

Old Forge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lakeland, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Blue Devils blew past the Chiefs 11-4 on Wednesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kamryn Notari spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Old Forge let Kate O'Hearn and Lilianna Lenceski run wild. O'Hearn went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Lenceski went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those two doubles gave O'Hearn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danica Pritchyk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The victory got Old Forge back to even at 8-8. As for Lakeland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Old Forge will welcome Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lakeland, they will host Western Wayne at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
