Hillsborough has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Franklin Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hillsborough is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklin in New Jersey (Hillsborough is ranked 26th, while Franklin is ranked 85th).
On Tuesday, Hillsborough came up short against Rutgers Prep and fell 63-53.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Zion Harrison, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Linden with a 60-54 win.
Hillsborough's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Franklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Hillsborough was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 51-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillsborough since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
