Jaelin Goldsmith threw two touchdowns and ran for two more as
Cascade Christian (Puyallup, Wash.) bested
King's (Seattle, Wash.) 37-13 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Jimmy Kim in the second quarter, the Cougars were up 12-7 at the half.
Cascade Christian grew its lead to 11 points entering the fourth quarter. CC scored two times in the third, including once on a Goldsmith touchdown pass to
Mason Tobeck.
The Puyallup school secured its victory by scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 24.
The Knights came in surrendering 12.1 points per game this season. King's had a hard time against Cascade Christian's offense, who entered the game scoring 41.8 points per game. Cascade Christian went into the matchup giving up only 13.5 points per game. King's' 13 points were well below its season average of 26.1 per game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Seattle school took, 28-7.
The defeat comes as a step back for King's, who notched a 28-14 victory over Tenino in its previous outing.
