This season hasn't been kind to the Manning Monarchs, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. Manning lost against Lake City in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-40 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Manning lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lanyah Pearson. Despite the final result, she scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniya Johnson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Manning's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Lake City, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Manning will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Clarendon at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. East Clarendon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Lake City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stall at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th.
