The Danville Blue Devils will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Springfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Danville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Danville stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by McDonald at home to the tune of 51-7. With Danville ahead 28-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Danville had a senior duo take command as Walker Weckesser threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns and Cole Delaughder gained 197 total yards and two touchdowns. Delaughder was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Nate Stephens was another key contributor, picking up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Springfield strolled past Monroeville with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-21.
Dante Gentile continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 277 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Gentile is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Danville's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. As for Springfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
