The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Centura at home to the tune of 75-36. The win was familiar territory for Doniphan-Trumbull who now have ten in a row.
Doniphan-Trumbull's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaedan Detamore, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Detamore posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Jack Poppe, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals.
Several Centurions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Gorecki, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Barrett Fries was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Doniphan-Trumbull pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Centura, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Doniphan-Trumbull will face off against the Chanticleers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ord will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Cardinals are ranked 13th). As for Centura, they and the Haymakers will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
