Basketball Recap: Barnum Has No Trouble Against Cook County

Barnum won the last time they faced Cook County and things went their way on Friday too. The Barnum Bombers were the clear victor by an 82-61 margin over the Cook County Vikings. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Cook County still got an impressive performance from Denali Blackwell, who went 11-for-21 on his way to 30 points and six boards. Blackwell has become a key player for Cook County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 25 points, but 5-9 otherwise. Jordan Backstrom was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

Barnum is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.7 points. As for Cook County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Barnum will be playing in front of their home fans against Cromwell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cromwell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Cook County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-43 win against Hill City on the 15th.
