The Ocala Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the Countryside Christian Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ocala Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Ocala Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Belleview, falling 67-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Ocala Christian has suffered against Belleview since January 8, 2018.
Despite the defeat, Ocala Christian saw an underclassman step up: Amari Gordon scored 11 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Conrad Bloom, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Countryside Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were beaten by Meadowbrook Academy 58-28. Countryside Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ocala Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Countryside Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
Ocala Christian was dealt a bruising 56-23 defeat at the hands of Countryside Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ocala Christian was down 37-6.
