After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matchups, the Manchester Blue Devils finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a serious blow against Taylor County, falling 49-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Manchester has scored all season.
Jermiah Martin and Jayla Gray certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Martin scored ten points along with two steals, while Gray scored six points along with five rebounds.
Taylor County found their leader in underclassman Jaydah Ford, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ford is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Trista Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Manchester's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Taylor County, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season.
Manchester will take on the Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Schley County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Vikings are ranked 137th).
