Softball Game Preview: Central DeWitt vs. Clinton River Kings

Central DeWitt is a perfect 4-0 against Clinton since June of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Central DeWitt will take on Clinton at 5:00 p.m. Clinton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Central DeWitt, who comes in off a win.

Central DeWitt can't be too worried about heading out to take on Clinton: they just beat Calamus-Wheatland at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Central DeWitt came out on top against Calamus-Wheatland by a score of 6-3 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Central DeWitt.

Meanwhile, Clinton lost 15-7 to Calamus-Wheatland on Saturday. The River Kings haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Central DeWitt, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.

Everything went Central DeWitt's way against Clinton when the teams last played back in June of 2024, as Central DeWitt made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central DeWitt since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
