The Chaparral Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 68-47 loss courtesy of Shadow Ridge.
Despite the loss, Chaparral still got an impressive performance from Qualib Ghallab, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. The contest was Ghallab's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Rayshawn Armstead was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Chaparral has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Shadow Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will take on Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Del Sol is ranked 86th, while Chaparral is ranked 77th). As for Shadow Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. Cimarron-Memorial is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
