The Lakeview Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Hubbard by a score of 49-36. This was payback for Lakeview, who suffered a 41-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenna Werner, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Humphrey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Hubbard lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jillian Palumbo, who scored eight points along with three steals. Palumbo is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Green, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Hubbard, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Lakeview will be playing in front of their home fans against Howland at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Howland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeview in Ohio (Howland is ranked 57th, while Lakeview is ranked 665th). As for Hubbard, they will head out on the road to face off against Harding at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
