Baseball Recap: Cameron Pohlmeier Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Crosbyton

Nazareth won against Petersburg last Saturday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Nazareth's pitcher stepped up to hand the Crosbyton Chiefs a 17-0 shutout. The Swifts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Zane Schulte was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Schulte was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cameron Pohlmeier was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Pohlmeier is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Fletcher Schacher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Nazareth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Nazareth's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Crosbyton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
