Overhills is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Hoke County Bucks at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Overhills beat St. Pauls 18-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.
Julianne Belcher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Overhills got a massive performance out of Serenity Mclean, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Mclean has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kadence West, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Hoke County made easy work of Red Springs on Thursday and carried off a 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bucks in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won nine in a row.
Like Overhills, Hoke County also got a great game from a two-way player: Niya Jones. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Jones was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Annabelle Lee was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. McKenzie Freeman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
