The Breckenridge Buckaroos can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Bowie. The win was just what Breckenridge needed coming off of a 42-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Breckenridge to victory were Alexis Franco and Jaime Cruz. Franco rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns, while Cruz rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Breckenridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bowie, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Breckenridge will face off against Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clyde presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Breckenridge in Texas (Clyde is ranked 242nd, while Breckenridge is ranked 524th). As for Bowie, they will be playing at home against Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
