Freeway recap Oct. 3, 2012
Sunny Hills moved up to 714 from 803 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freeway. A 48-0 win over Orange helped the Lancers improve their standing.
Sunny Hills took down the Panthers 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Troy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Blumer threw for 67 and one touchdown and Dallas Parent had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Parent chipped in 208 yards. Dominic Vaccher helped Troy's passing attack out by catching two balls for nine yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Scott Lloyd of Fullerton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 749. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Buena Park's Deven Boston has rushed for 1141 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Miranda. The Sonora star has 17 catches for 360 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Coyotes take on Sonora. Buena Park is currently in first, while the Raiders are in fourth.
Jon Caffrey's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,632 from 11,147. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-0 victory over Orange last week.
