Fishburne Military is 8-2 against the Colonels since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Fishburne Military Caissons will head out on the road to face off against the Massanutten Military Academy Colonels at 5:00 p.m. Fishburne Military is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Fishburne Military pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Carlisle, falling 87-58. While losing is never fun, Fishburne Military can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Chiefs are ranked 48th).
Meanwhile, Massanutten Military Academy came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 53-44 victory over Mountain View Christian Academy on Friday. Massanutten Military Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Fishburne Military's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Massanutten Military Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Everything came up roses for Fishburne Military against the Colonels in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 63-36 victory. Does Fishburne Military have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
