The Lewis-Palmer Rangers will challenge the Rampart Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lewis-Palmer will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Lewis-Palmer came out on top against Discovery Canyon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Rangers took their contest against the Thunder 6-3.
Alvin Jarrell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, JW Babbitt looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
Jarrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Fox, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Rampart fell victim to Pueblo West and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cyclones. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.
Lewis-Palmer pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Rampart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Rampart's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lewis-Palmer has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Rampart, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Lewis-Palmer's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lewis-Palmer took their victory against Rampart in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 14-5 score. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
