Softball Recap: Bishop Snyder Wins Going Away Against Trinity Christian Academy

Bishop Snyder made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Trinity Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Bishop Snyder blew past Trinity Christian Academy 8-2 on Thursday. Considering the Cardinals have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Gotto and Caitlyn Boshell were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gotto didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Boshell pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gotto has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Gotto went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while Boshell went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those six RBI gave Gotto a new career-high.

In other batting news, Juliana Roldan was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lola Aberly was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Bishop Snyder's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Trinity Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bishop Snyder Cardinals duke it out with Ridgeview Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeview has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something Bishop Snyder will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against St. Johns Country Day at 6:30 p.m. Trinity Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. Johns Country Day has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
