Despite the loss, Northside - Jacksonville had strong showings from Joaliel Caraballo, who went 7 of 10 en route to 15 points in addition to six boards and six steals, and Peyton Mayhew, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 19 points gave Mayhew a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Mitchell, who posted six points and eight boards.
Even though they lost, Northside - Jacksonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, D.H. Conley came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Wake Christian Academy 64-49 last Saturday.
D.H. Conley's win came from a few key players Northside - Jacksonville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cayden Hill, who had 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Samari Cabell was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.
Northside - Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for D.H. Conley, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Northside - Jacksonville has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.5 boards per game. However, it's not like D.H.
