Century has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Johnston City Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Century will be strutting in after a win while Johnston City will be coming in after a loss.
Century can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 59-21 victory over Shawnee. Century pushed the score to 48-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Shawnee had no chance of recovering from.
Century's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karleigh Jones, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Linsey Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Johnston City's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pope County.
Century is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Johnston City, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-12.
Century might still be hurting after the 57-37 defeat they got from Johnston City in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Century avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
