Avery Reynolds spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Dublin Scioto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbi Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Big Walnut made easy work of Westerville North on Monday and carried off a 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sarah Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Adams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Ellie Crotty was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one RBI. That's the most triples she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madi Clever, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Big Walnut was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory made it two in a row for Big Walnut and bumps their season record up to 13-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Dublin Scioto, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dublin Scioto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439.
