Dunmore is 1-9 against Mid Valley since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bucks will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Dunmore came out on top against Honesdale on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Bucks were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Hornets. The victory continues a trend for the Bucks in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won seven in a row.

Rachel Walsh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Paige Ancherani and Bella Pasko did most of the damage at the plate: Ancherani went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Pasko went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jaclyn Brown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mid Valley got themselves on the board against Old Forge on Friday, but Old Forge never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Dunmore, Mid Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Hazelton. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hazelton was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Mid Valley let Audrey Hasenzahl and Parker Bennett run wild. Hasenzahl went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bennett went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Hasenzahl has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Hricenak, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Mid Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Old Forge only posted a batting average of .118.
Mid Valley's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Dunmore, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dunmore has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mid Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dunmore suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Mid Valley in their previous meeting on April 4th. Will the Bucks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
