The California Pintos scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Eldon 78-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for California.
When it comes to explaining why Eldon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sydney Halderman. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Halderman scored a full 42.6% of Eldon's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Cotten, who scored three points along with five rebounds.
California pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Eldon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hallsville at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. Eldon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cuba at 12:00 p.m. on January 25th.
