Basketball Recap: Rampart's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Rampart's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Mountain Range Mustangs with a 55-49 win. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rampart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Arabelle Madril, who posted 16 points along with seven boards and five steals. Madril is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Zoe Waldrep was another key player, putting up ten points and seven steals.

Rampart was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Delilah Lucero, who had 16 points along with seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Lucero a new career-high in blocks (two). Josieraye Running Wolf was another key player, posting seven points along with five boards and four steals.

With the victory, Rampart broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3. As for Mountain Range, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Rampart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 37-33 defeat against Windsor Charter Academy on the 14th. As for Mountain Range, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-30 win against Steamboat Springs on the 14th.
