It was a good run, but the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Everett. While losing is never fun, Edmonds-Woodway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Everett is ranked 100th).
Edmonds-Woodway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Johansen, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Johansen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Julian Gray, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Ty Bloomfield, who scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals for Everett. Bloomfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Isaiah White was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Edmonds-Woodway now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Everett, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Edmonds-Woodway will play host again and welcome Kentlake, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Kentlake is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Everett and Cleveland Heights will round out the year against one another at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday at.
