Macy Hoylman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Hoylman was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jalyssa Molina, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pettisville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry hadn't done well against Evergreen recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Patrick Henry got a massive performance out of Mariah Boyer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisiana Wyandt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pettisville pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.4 runs over those games. As for Patrick Henry, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pettisville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Patrick Henry struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pettisville might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in April of 2024.
