Fillmore Central can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 69-26 victory over Heartland at home. That looming 69-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fillmore Central yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fillmore Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Roach, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarin Tweedy, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Centennial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Centura 59-36. Given Centennial's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Centura is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Centennial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Slawnyk out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Hirschfeld, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Fillmore Central's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Centennial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Fillmore Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 48-45. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Centennial's Maj Nisly, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Fillmore Central to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
