After a string of five wins, the Wilson Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Diamond Bar. Wilson has not had much luck with Diamond Bar recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Wilson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Duncan Quirarte, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quirarte has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josiah Lewis, who scored eight points.
Wilson's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for Diamond Bar, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will square off against Rowland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rowland is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Diamond Bar, they will head out on the road to face off against South Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 817th, while Diamond Bar is ranked 295th).
