Meanwhile, Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 41-24 to Tooele.
Despite their loss, Hillcrest saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Silas Ahching, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, was perhaps the best of all. Ahching got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Court, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Even though they lost, Hillcrest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted was before the start of last season.
Murray has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Murray was able to grind out a solid victory over Hillcrest in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, winning 31-20. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hillcrest's Marcus Sollers, who rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
