The Sequoia Ravens will square off against the Burlingame Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Sequoia: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Burlingame has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
On Wednesday, Sequoia got the win against Notre Dame by a conclusive 17-11.

Sequoia let Nisha Mehta and Jamie Elkington run wild. Mehta fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4, while Elkington fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Those six RBI gave Mehta a new career-high. Maren Ocken was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Sequoia lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Burlingame put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Menlo-Atherton. The Panthers blew past the M-A BEARS 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kiley Lyons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Arce, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Arce, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Burlingame's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Sequoia, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sequoia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Burlingame struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sequoia might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Burlingame in their previous matchup on Friday. Will the Ravens have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
