The Forest Area Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Central Lake Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Forest Area's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. The game between them and Inland Lakes wasn't particularly close, with Forest Area falling 51-33.
Meanwhile, Central Lake pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 71-56 fall against Bellaire. While losing is never fun, Central Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Eagles are ranked 246th).
Forest Area has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Central Lake, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Forest Area ended up a good deal behind the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January, losing 76-59. Can Forest Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
