Fairfield is 7-1 against Teague since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fairfield Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Teague Lions at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Fairfield came up short against Westwood and fell 81-70. While losing is never fun, Fairfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 907th, while Westwood is ranked 308th).
Teague was handed a 55-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Elkhart on Friday. Teague narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Elkhart 59-57. The win was just what Teague needed coming off of a 95-40 loss in their prior match.
Teague got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tylin Randle out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayden Leija, who scored 18 points.
Fairfield has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Teague, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Everything went Fairfield's way against Teague in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Fairfield made off with a 58-37 win. Will Fairfield repeat their success, or does Teague have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
