Robinson's batters probably weren't too happy with Andrea Yagui, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up two walks). Yagui has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elaina Primozic, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Kate Middendorf was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Alexandria City couldn't beat South County on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Titans lost 19-9 to the Stallions. The Titans have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Paula Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zaria Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.
West Springfield's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Alexandria City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Alexandria City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Springfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Alexandria City, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given West Springfield's sizable advantage in that area, the Titans will need to find a way to close that gap.
