The Edgemont Moguls and the Hyannis Longhorns will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Edgemont had to endure a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Oelrichs 60-27 on the road. The victory was just what Edgemont needed coming off of a 60-23 defeat in their prior matchup.
Edgemont relied on the efforts of Sebastian Morse, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Keaton Darrow, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Darrow scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cian Waite, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Hyannis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three last Saturday. They breezed by Arthur County on the road to the tune of 61-30. Hyannis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Edgemont's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8. As for Hyannis, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
