The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They put the hurt on Chadron with a sharp 46-21 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gordon-Rushville.
Gordon-Rushville had a senior duo take command as Haley Johnson scored 21 points along with five steals and Mckinley Grover dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Grover is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Skye Tausan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Chadron still got an impressive performance from Taverra Sayaloune, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Sayaloune has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Gordon-Rushville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Chadron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Gordon-Rushville will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Morrill is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Chadron, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Alliance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
