Softball Recap: Cameron Has No Trouble Against Barron

Cameron lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Barron, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Comets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Golden Bears a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Comets yet this season.

Cameron let Grace Dexter and Mallory Duerkop run wild. Dexter scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Duerkop scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Dexter has posted since back in May of 2024. Ashlyn Labrie also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Cameron's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Barron, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Cameron will host Chetek-Weyerhaeuser at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barron, they will challenge Unity at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
