The Patrician Academy Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 46-31 fall against Sparta Academy. Patrician Academy has not had much luck with Sparta Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
It was another big night for Jamie Ellissa Deason, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds for Sparta Academy. Deason has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Johnson, who scored 17 points.
Patrician Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sparta Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrician Academy and Southern Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sparta Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crenshaw Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Crenshaw Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
