The J.H. Rose Rampants scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past North Pitt 82-59. That 23 points margin sets a new team best for J.H. Rose this season.
Justin Grimes was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Malachi Green was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six assists and three steals.
Jamarcus Pippens and Keymauri Brooks certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Pippens scored 13 points along with two steals, while Brooks scored 16 points. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zahmerrion Exum, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory was the sixth in a row for J.H. Rose, bringing their record for this year to 10-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for North Pitt, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.H. Rose will take on Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Jacksonville is ranked 171st, while J.H. Rose is ranked 166th). As for North Pitt, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greene Central at 7:30 p.m. Greene Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully North Pitt likes a good challenge.
