Monmouth Regional is a perfect 10-0 against Long Branch since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Justin Cuevas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Noah Hoogmoed and Havier Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Hoogmoed scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Gonzalez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those three hits gave Hoogmoed a new career-high. David Jules was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
