Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Drops Highest Score of Season Against Coral Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Carroll). Everything went their way against the Coral Park Rams on Friday as the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs made off with a 16-5 win. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

STEVEN NUNEZ looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, JONATHAN DIAZ was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. GUSTAVO ULPINO was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Archbishop Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

The win got Archbishop Carroll back to even at 5-5-1. As for Coral Park, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Carroll will head out to face off against Cypress Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Carroll is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Coral Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westland Hialeah at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Westland Hialeah has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something Coral Park will no doubt try to take advantage of.
