It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seton Catholic had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Apache Junction Prospectors. The win was nothing new for the Sentinels as they're now sitting on three straight.
Max Peterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Noah Donovan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tialoc Del Rosario, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Seton Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Apache Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
Looking ahead, Seton Catholic will take on Gilbert Christian on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sentinels 3.6, the Knights 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Apache Junction does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
