Bermudian Springs is 0-7 against Littlestown since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Thunderbolts at 4:15 p.m. Bermudian Springs has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bermudian Springs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Middletown on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Raiders, falling 14-2.
Bermudian Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Reese, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Lorin Dupert also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Littlestown entered their tilt with West York Area on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 14-10.
Alexis Stonesifer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stonesifer was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Littlestown got a massive performance out of Sarah Loveless, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Libby Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Littlestown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Littlestown pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Bermudian Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bermudian Springs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Littlestown struggles in that department as they've averaged .414. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bermudian Springs might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Littlestown in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
