Anson extended the longest winning streak in 1A-1 Region I District 4 this week by beating Tahoka, 56-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Anson moved up to 510 from 543 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 56-21 win over the Bulldogs helped the Tigers improve their standing.
Stamford's Hagen Hutchinson and James Washington have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hutchinson has thrown for 834 yards this season, while Washington, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 27 catches for 326 yards. Forsan's Brendan Roman leads the league in rushing yards with 389.
A big matchup in 1A-1 Region I District 4 this week will be when Haskell takes on the Buffaloes. At the moment, the Indians are in fourth, while Forsan is in third.
Anson led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Tahoka.
