Campo Verde (Gilbert, Ariz.) took the lead for good when
Luke Pineda threw a touchdown to
Jordan Fickas with 7:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Sahuaro (Tucson, Ariz.) 34-21 on Saturday.
The Coyotes led 14-13 at halftime, but the Cougars regained the lead on a touchdown with 11:00 left in the fourth.
Campo Verde grew its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. CV scored once in the quarter on a
Zac Wheeler touchdown run.
Sahuaro came in allowing just 17.3 points per game this season. SHS had a hard time against Campo Verde's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.0 points per game.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Coyotes, who lost to Mesquite last week, 30-0.
