The Anzar Hawks lost against the Kirby Prep Griffins back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Anzar fell 45-38 to the Griffins.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kirby Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Lively, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lively has scored at least a third of Kirby Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Alden, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Anzar has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Kirby Prep, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anzar will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. York is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Kirby Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge the Pumas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Pacific Collegiate's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
